I have not had a flat tire since Sept 1977. Last night I got a 1"*0.5"*1/16" wedge of steel in a rear tire. It took out just under 1 full inch of the belt. Tire is completely toast.

Luckily the tires were in the last 1/3rd of their life.

What a pi$$er.

Hope it let you down easy and didn't blow out. It can be kind of dramatic when that happens.

first flat tire in 30 years was on a brand new tire with 55 miles on it. 3/8" x 1" long bolt right throught to the inside. Ouch!!
