Default I've been getting more &am

I've been getting more & more inquiries as to the pricing and cost structure from Co.'s interested in becoming board advertisers/sponsors.

The hard part of trying to figure out value for advertisers has been two fold, 1- how much will it cost to hire a website Guru to incorporate the banner adds, 2- what would be a reasonable ongoing fee & period lenght.

Since I never started this board to profit but to share my passion and life long hobby for Italian Exotics with other enthusiasts that share my passion, I've come up with what I think may be a way to help mitifate the cost of Ferrari-Talk and directly benefit all the members at the same time.

My plan goes something like this:

Allow sponsors a visible but unobtrusive banner add for a period of 6 months to a year for Cost, "Provided" that they absord the cost of the Web Guru to install their own add and then pass on to all registered members a Parts-Services Discount/Incentive of some type.

All thoughts, opinions, advice, ideas Welcome.

Regards, JRV

Default I think this is a fair solutio

I think this is a fair solution. How do you decide the cost of the web guru? As you get more sponsors would you amortize that cost over the additional sponsors? Or would it be a 1 time fee to set up the ad?

I would be glad to provide a discount to members of the board.

Default OK, Firstly, JR, I think th

OK,

Firstly, JR, I think that what you are doing is fantastic. Special incentive for members will be a great asset for the enthusiasts on board, and the almost negligible cost for sponsoring the site is a great draw for sponsors.

Anyway. By reading the previous threads on the board it looks like you have at least three sponsors. Tire rack, one you didn't mention, and the one(s) which prompted you to post this thread. The approximate cost for putting up a banner will be about $100 if you are willing to contract a decent guy. Depending on the complexity of the banner of course. Looks like sponsors would pay $40 to have their banners up. You can then ask sponsors to give people a certain percentage off, and if the major companies like Tire Rack have a fixed price policy, then they can carry the burden of the paying for the web guru, free shipping, or some other thing that benefits the board in general.

I think that would be a simple way to even out the big/small fish. Really, no matter what you do, your post pretty much indicates a win/win situation in my book. With advertising costs of $40, all these guys would have to do is sell literally one or two things and break even!

Cheers

IME, most companies have their own graphics person that can whip up a great banner in no time and no real cost to them as they're already on hire. It's those 25% that need help with a banner. Sometimes they're just happy with something simple that you don't need a pro to develop. So really, very few of the sponsors should put you out money for the graphic.

Default I don't think it's so

I don't think it's so much the graphic, but JR's lack of coding knowledge to turn it into cute javascript and incorporated into the website. I don't know how the software for the forum works, but that's what I'm guessing.

If it's free, then all the better! I may be able to scrounge up a coder in my company who will do this for me at no cost to you JR.

Cheers

Default Wow Magnum thanks !!!! Welc

Wow Magnum thanks !!!!

Welcome Aboard...and thanks for the offer of assistance.

If you followed along on this thread we've decided to let the sponsors have banner space for 6 months to a year at cost and no advertising charge if they will agree to pass a discount or other renumeration along to our members. The hold-up has been we didn't have a "Web Guru" {} to work with them & the board to get the banners set up with proper links and whatever tech stuff is involved. If you can help us out we will be greatly appreciative.

Best Regards, JRV
