I once bought a Jaguar V-12 engine, for $450, with a bad crank........hoping to do the same thing........coffee table, with a glass top.

Took the engine apart......felt it was still too heavy.......sold it for $800.

It was a good idea, though. Maybe the F engine will be light enough.

Now, what is a fair price for a useless 308 engine?????????????

That is where I am Henry. How much is it worth? Not very much in the condition it is in. But it would make an awesome table.

Maybe JR has some old useless Fcar parts I can get out of his shop.

I guess it is worth what you would pay for it!!!!!!!

I would be curious to see what JRV has to say about this. Can't the heads be repaired.......how much is a rebuilt 308 head worth? Can the block cracks be welded?

Aren't good, used, 308 engines going for about $5K?

Default Jeremy, I remember you tell

Jeremy,

I remember you telling me about something similar to this idea on eBay. I think it would pretty cool. Now if it matches the rest of the house...that's a different story. But definitely a very cool display piece no matter what.

Cheers

I believe there was a 328 engine that was
already done as a coffe table on e-bay a
few months back.
It had overheated or something.
If my memory is right it was at like $1600 or so.
