Hello everyone. I need to replace my siren/battery unit. I removed it today to look at the part number. I did a quick search on the internet and I do not see it listed anywhere. Here are the numbers I found on it:
F005V00088 Ni-Cd 177148 Ver.: 1.1 I received one quote for $400 + shipping which seems nuts for a little nicad. Any recommendations other than live with it :-) thanks, --tony |

I had he same problem with the siren of my 355. I made the mistake of taking the car to the dealer and I told them to replace it, thinking that if you can buy a brand new alarm for about $99.00 at Mother's, just a Siren/battery should not represent a big expense. I was presented with a $400.00 bill (and they were nice enough not to charge labor).
For less than $300.00 you coud go to an alarm and window tint place and get a full system that is probably of a better quality than the factory one. They can even program your own original remotes with the new codes. |

Hi Guys,
I think there is a solution without paying $400 for a battery...space shuttle prices..ouch. First try to do a search for Ni-Cad or Alarm Battery...in the Tech Section awhile back John Custer had this problem with his 360 and found the solution. If you can't find the old thread I'll look later..no time now. regards, JRV |

With respect to the 355/360/575 battery alarm situation, this has been well resolved at the following link.
It's best not to run without that alarm piece functioning since it's so easy to cure. No local alarm shop will be able to deal with this unless they were previously faced with this exact situation. You will find it quite informative and valuable. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=105388 |

Thanks for all info.
This topic came up again on FerrariChat, and I had the problem on my 360. The part is certainly more accessible on the 360. So, I documented everything by photos as you can see at that thread. Bruce is a great help. regards to all |

Dead battery: I have a '98 355 with a dead battery and I'm trying to jump start it but can't seem to find the battery. I thought the car had a remote positive and negative terminal accessible through either the trunk or engine compartment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
