I am a new owner of a 2007 F430 with F1 paddles. Does anyone know the optimal way to accelerate from a stop? I am looking to get the quickest start from a stop-light start. Thanks in advance.
Side note: I owned a 2004 M3 with SMG (similar to the F1), at a stop if you held the gear shit in the "down shift" position for a few seconds, it would essentially put the clutch-in allowing you to get the RPMs up--release the shift and you were off---anything like this for the F430? |

I have been doing a little research, here is a blurb I found on "Launch control" (if anyone cares):
Car and Driver found the car's performance worthy of the Ferrari heritage, and recorded a 3.5 sec 0-60 mph acceleration run in the F430. This makes it the second-quickest Ferrari road car ever made, after the Enzo. That being said, the 3.5 second 0-60 run was made on a European spec car, which has launch control, a feature designed to help launch the car from a standing start at high RPM's. Much like the E-Diff and the manettino, the launch control is a technology borrowed from Ferrari's legendary Formula 1 racing program. The launch control is unavailable in U.S.-spec F430's, presumably due to liability issues. Anyone know of aftemarket installs on "launch control"?? Or, again, how to properly do a quick start on the US model? |
