Since there wasn't any interest in my trip before I left, I'll save my keystrokes and focus on reality- not chatroom- and in preparing the stills and video of my drive from Monaco to Maranello. It will be posted at
WYO550.COM
The factory tour began with Luca's security detail nearly mowing us down at the gate as they rushed in with the boss in a Maserati. The F1 team was still on track at Fiorano. The private tour was guided by two execs from marketing and sales and included a half hour in the restoration hall, as well as engine assembly and the old/new production hall.
The new Michael Mann "official video" of the California is as stupid as the display on the dash of the California when the car is fired up. When the marketing people see MY video- compared to Mr big shot director's (and my budget for shooting in Ireland where I've already started to secure a crew at $4,000/day) we'll be talking Ferrari passion....not Costa Mesa mall video game with CGI cars on virtual roadways.
Crap is what America loves.
Quality is what Italians adore about Ferrari
I know the difference and have now nailed a couple of Scuderias and 599's to 160mph in three countries in one month
