I wonder if they turbo charged the 599 it would rival the Bugatti Veyron 16.4? It would be great fun to find out... First I will have to raise some cash, does anyone want to buy a wife and 3 kids?

Assuming this is what the 599 will really look like, I like it! Snarly, angular and unique... resembling a lineage of past Ferraris - and not to be confused with anything else!

The released photos show styling cues that bear resemblances to F430 /360's front end (perhaps indicating how truly small this car is- compared to a 575/612 chassis) Enzo side and 430 rear quarter. The single tail lights again indicate to me how small the car really is. I'll bet they made a larger trunk- to offset a virtual lack of rear shelf space behind the seats - and didn't have room for the "traditional Ferrari" twin tail lights.

This is also one car design that is obviously destined to be a spyder! Can't you see it already?
(or maybe an exotic, sliding, electro-chromatic roof that slides back over the rear glass, opening the top up like a SuperAmerica.)

What I want to see is where/ how front (USA USA USA! duh! 12" X 6") license plates are going to go on this car- without threatening air flow into the engine and/or blocking views the stallion! I know how hot my 550 gets, running full bore at 485-500hp (I have modified the exhaust. See video thread section for movie). I'll bet the 599 GTB will be so hot it will melt things if it's not getting proper air flow.

The federal U.S. requirement of 12 inches-off-ground for license plate installation is now an unenforced joke, due to low-riders everywhere (I was told that by senior Wyo HP in Cheyennne). But this same agency opposed the state legislature bill last year that would have dropped front plates in Wy (and the WHP regularly hassles Colorado exotic drivers who don't have the fronts installed, which is ignored in Colorado).

I can't afford to think about a 599 now.
I'll happily keep my (now paid off) 1997 550 and drive it into the ground (in my second year of owership, I'm now at 27,500 miles and doing 6-10,000 miles a summer) and maybe buy a 599 Spyder in 2008 or 2009 if I can afford it then. I think I'd go titanium body/ black top and bordeaux interior...with propellers on the radio antenna!
