Default Purchasing first TR

I am in the market for my first Ferrari and have decided on a post '86 TR. I have found an 11k mile car that appears to be a nice car. I understand the commitment to maintenance when buying a car like this but what are the obvious (and not so obvious) things to look for...and what questions need to be answered before I "pull the trigger"? I really enjoy this forum and appreciate your wealth of knowledge!

Check the fuse panel, make sure there aren't any brown spots on any of the connectors, make sure they have the receipts for all services they claim to have been performed. If they do not have the receipt assume it has not been done. Make sure everything works, the electric release for the glove box(sometimes may require a pull while pressing the button as the leather tends to stick), windows, mirrors, all switches, If it has not had a major service including timimg belts and tensioners, with water pump rebuild (in the last year, this must be done every 3 - 5 years depending on your mindset) then plan on spending another $8K - $12K getting this done. When mine was done in Aug 06 it was $14,000 w clutch and a dist. cap being the only surprises. Good luck , if you have any other questions feel free to ask. Also there are more aftermarket wheel choices available if you go with a 5 lug version instead of the single lug version
