Default Found a car I might be interes

Found a car I might be interested in purchasing. The car is in France and I was wondering what year the car would have to be in order for it to be smog and other regulation exempt. The car is a 1976 or 1977.

What sort of things need to be done to the vehicle to make it street legal in the U.S. Either, CA, MA, NJ, or NY. Preferrably CA, since that is where the car will most likely spend most if not all of its time.

Cheers

Default Taek, All cars have certian

Taek,

All cars have certian guidelines .

The one important rule is they must have all originaly fitted smog equip on and functional. The good news is 76-77's only had air pumps and NO CATS...which is why 77 B's are becoming so popular.

You would need some DOT updates like internal door beams and side marker lights, that's it, and the EPA mods are also negligible, working air pump, and a nice clean tune of course.

Default Wondering if it's worth it

Wondering if it's worth it. Not that there is any cost savings, because it looks like there isn't any. But definitely due to the limited supply of these cars in the U.S.

Definitely tempting. I'll have to look into it a little more. Getting kind of sick of not having an Italian car. High fever, headaches, twitchy fingers, etc.

Wife is trying to talk some sense into me too.

Cheers
