Default Does anyone know if the transm

Does anyone know if the transmission fill hole services the Overdrive as well as the Transmission.
My manual says to fill the Transmission and the Overdrive unit, but it doesn't specify how you fill the Overdrive itself.
I am assuming that the transmission will feed the other unit.

Default Went thru my old 250 service

Went thru my old 250 service bullitens.....

the overdrive fills with the trans filler plug, on the English manufactured OD units such as used on 250GTE's it's also reccomended that the OD screen & magnetic plug be cleaned at regular intervals. Screen is accessible by removing the brass plug at the base of the unit.

My transmission is Laycock, with the Lucas overdrive. It is a center shifter.
I can see the brass drain, now before I remove the drain, where will I find a gesket for it?

Default If you wanted an official gask

If you wanted an official gaskit I'd try Ferrari of UK. If any old gaskit of the same size & material will do, NAPA is a possibility or McMaster, or another source:

Default There are two different types

There are two different types of Laycock De Normanville overdrive units that are used on Ferrari's. One is filled through the normal transmission fill plug at the left front of the transmission case, the other has its own large brass fill plug on the left rear of the tailhousing. If you drain the overdrive on the second type you MUST refill it through the separate fill plug as there no common oil sump between the transmission and overdrive unit.
