308 288 Conversion on EBay NS Engine

This car is for sale on e-bay and I'd like to know how they fit the engine in longitudinally?

He mentions a G50 gearbox and custom adaptor (not cheap machine work there).

I guess my next question is, why turn the engine? Norwood has done lots of Turbo conversions for other cutomers. Was it simply to get a stronger gearbox? Can't you upgrade the stock 308 gearbox to handle the extra power, or no?

Also notice the shifter is located further back in the transmission tunnel...the normal gate location is covered up with a red panel.
