Default Hey all. How do you remove

Hey all.

How do you remove the 308 crank pully to replace the seal?

I started to remove it but I noticed the engine started to move. I assume you need to lock the motor from moving but I am lost after that. I need to replace the leaking seal.

TIA

Default Hi Mike, You remove the AC

Hi Mike,

You remove the AC & Alt./WP belts, then simply remove the Pulley Retaining Nut with an impact gun. After the nut is removed the pulley just sides off. Replace the seal and instalation is the reverse.

HTH's

Default Mike, I removed the nut as

Mike,

I removed the nut as JRV described.

I think you'll want to torque the nut back on so you will still have to lock the engine for this operation. I simply put the trans in 5th gear and applied the emergency brake to keep things from moving during the torque process.
