Default Thank you Tim. While disconnec

Thank you Tim. While disconnecting the plug from the AAV I noticed that the wire had not been installed correctly. There were about 3-4 strands actually crimped into the connectors. The rest were "spaghetti bowled" into the end of the plug. This situation would no doubt cause the circuit to run very hot.

I will be running to the Porsche dealer today to acquire some new plugs. Then the re-wiring begins...

Will post an update once the new wires are installed.

Default Thank you Dave. The local Pors

Thank you Dave. The local Porsche dealer had one left in a spare parts bin. And would you believe he gave it to me? No charge! Maybe my next sports car should be a Pcar. I don't know if I could defect to the dark side though...

It's not exactly the same, but I think it will work just fine.

JRV...Your thoughts???

Default A different aproach to the fue

A different aproach to the fuel pump hot relay, etc. problem was to add a second relay at the pump. By pulling power via a 12 gauge wire from the starter (battery terminal) , you have plenty of "juice". I then used the old wire that used to power the pump to actuate the relay. This way it performs as it is supposed to in respect to on and off, but very little power is needed to turn the relay on and get the power on.
HTH
Kermit BTW, I covered it in a piece of bicycle inner tube for sealing the moisture out.

Default WE'RE BACK ON THE ROAD!!!!

WE'RE BACK ON THE ROAD!!!!!!!!!!!

The new plug and wiring solved the problem. She's all back together again and we went for out first open road drive tonight. Man does she sound SWEET!! Before, under the over passes she would sound low and mean. Now she sounds like an F1 car. More high pitched than before.

Thank you to everyone who helped along the way. This has been not only a rewarding experience, but a very frustrating, and labor intensive experience as well. But now me and my baby understand each other.

I will post updates as things progress. As of right now, I am on cloud 20!!!!!!!

Can't wait to take her to work tomorrow......
