Default Hi guys, Wondering if anyo

Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone has (in their tool box or on their spare parts shelf) a Bosch AutoJet power antenna for 328. Looking for the exterior bezel/gasket and possibly also extending mast? Unfortunately no success today at Bosch, Blaupunkt, TRutlands, GT Car Parts, and have call in to Antennaworld. Looking to preserve the original factory unit - willing to purchase, barter, beg, etc.

Thanks for anything anyone can turn up,

Carl

Man, good luck to you Carl!
Someone took my hardware recently, or it rattled loose, and like you couldn't find ANYTHING short of a complete unit!

Mine still works, just missing the trim!

Hi Mr. Leach,

I'm sortof feeling better I'm not the only one in this situation....(wry smile). Also thought this would be a topic no one would be interested in.

Tell you what - I'll post whatever I come up with. Although Blaupunkt actually lists the "AutoJet" in their catalog the distribution personnel today weren't very helpful...

Soliciting all advice at this point.

Carl

PS: Tell you what: we find & collectively cannabalize a parts unit!
(seriously - apparently the Harada replacement is quite good)

Carl,
I bought the current Autojet antenna blindly, thinking that even though it is fully automatic in function, I could modify it to semi-automatic function as long as it is cosmetically the same. It is NOT! Has a much larger ball head on it. Looks much different, and fully automatic to boot.

Thanks Y'all.

Dave, did the current Autojet have a chrome antenna with black tip? If so, wonder if the mast would function as replacement? And if I may ask, where did you find/how much did you have to ransom it for?

(checked your profile...I also have two small furry guys...have to clear car part purchases with them, usually secondary to kitty treats...!)

Thanks again,

Carl

PS JRV didn't the 328s come with Bosch?

I'll address mine after the paint work. Local stereo guy said he could handle it. Don't know if mine's stock anyway, as it is apparently direct wired to the stereo, goes up when unit powers "on", down when "off". I'm changing the stereo too, for a CD player.

How was the console switch supposed to function anyway? I guess mine's disconnected.

Default Alan, your antenna is a repla

Alan,
your antenna is a replacement and "fully automatic" in operation. The stock antenna is "semi automatic" in operation and required the switch to raise or lower it.

Carl, the Bosch antenna was ALL chrome...sorry. I found it on some German website, and asked some other American Bosch radio distributor to special order it for me, hoping it was what I needed. Ended up costing me about $135,and Ebayed it later for $70, still new in the box!
