OK so I took the car in. They cleared the slow down1/4 codes and shook down the car. It drove great. Got it home and cleaned it and parked it in the garage. 2 hours later...It wouldnt start. I couldnt believe it! I jumped the battery and it started. I let it run for 5 mintutes, and guess what happened...the damn Slow down 1/4 light came on. I turned it off, tried to restart...nothing!!! Any idea what is going on? It is an 89 348 TS with 15,500 Miles, all service including the 30 k and the belts are done and current.

Default I hope that you didn't pay

I hope that you didn't pay these guys.

To your issue. I would first check the Slow Down ECU for that bank. These have malfunctions frequently and can cause a bank to shut down when the cat really isn't overheating.
Also, do you have the extra grounds on your 02 sensors? If not add them.
Have you verified spark on the bank you think you are losing? The more info you provide the more we can help narrow it down.

Now, you took it in and what did they say? They must have claimed to repair something.

Do you think a bad battery is causing problems. It wouldn't take much to pull it out, take it to the auto parts store and have it checked.

Default From what I'm gathering it

From what I'm gathering it won't start because the starter won't crank the engine because the battery is dead?

If the battery is old just replace it, if it's not to old charge overnight minimum then test it and the Alternator charging condition.

You guys are great. This is the best forum I have ever seen. As to the questions. I took it to a 30 year Ferrari mechanic. He ran the codes and founfd that it was a simple connection/ground problem. Cleared the problem and shook down the car. He explained that the car probably has not been driven that much, and based on me driving it every day, I am shaking it loose, and to expect these problems at first.

The battery worked when I jumped it so at least its not the alternator. I took it back this morning to replace the battery. Thanks for your help...AGAIN!

Default I forgot to mention...The Slow

I forgot to mention...The Slow Down 1/4 is not coming on at all. It came on last night when I jumped it, but wasnt on today. The mechanic asked me to leave it with him yesterday, so he could make sure he cleared the problem...but I had to take it home. So he was right in trying to make sure what he did corrected the problem, but I couldnt leave it with him.
