Default 355 top wont go down!!

hi guys, I am new to the forum and already have a problem. I recently got an F355 and decided to put the top down over the weekend (never had it down before). However, all it does is make a beeping sound. I have undone the front part and put the e brake on but I get no movement out of the top itself. Is it hydraulic? Any idea's?
thanks in advance for any help!
