Does any one know what the surface temperatures of the exhaust manifold reach on the 2000 360? OR do you know where I can find the data. I am interested in any data concerning exhaust surface temps from the manifold to the mufflers.

The exhaust gasses leave the cylinders in the vicinity of 1600 dF and arrive at the Cats above 1300dF where they are raised towards 2000 dF by the processes in the Cat. The steel blanket covering the headers are present to retain as much of this heat for two purposes; a) to light up the Cats early in the warrm up cycle, b) to prevent excessive heating of the engine bay.

I don't know the exact numbers, but I would be surprised if this blanket did not reach 1000 dF under high power uses of the car. The pipes of the headers themselves operate close to the exhaust gas temperatures (when covered by that blanket).
