Default Hi, what is the procedure for

Hi, what is the procedure for replacing headers on a 400i? Does the engine need to be pulled? Also will 412 headers fit? thanks for any help!

Marc,

you're on you're own here!!!

I know for a fact the right rear header will come off to acess the starter!!!! I would think the rest could be slipped out also, although I've never had a reason to try it. I have done full Daytona headers in the car!!

As far as swapping out 400's for 412's..seems likely they will swap, but no gurantees!!

JRV, thanks for your insight and info. Got an email from Brian Keegan at Trutlands (the best!) says the 412's have the same head gaskets as the 400i and that they should fit! I guess I will have to find out the hard way if the headers will slip out!

Default Hi Mark, I have done this job

Hi Mark, I have done this job before, and it is quite tricky. I removed all the fuel injection bits on both banks first and then it was fairly straight forward. Could take you a couple of days!! Keep us informed, Tim
