Default I've just purchased a 97 5

I've just purchased a 97 550 with 10K miles and a few issues. I would appreicate any and all comments-

The driver's seat feels like it has a 2X4 for lumbar support. I just sat in the passenger's seat which is just wonderful so the driver's seat is broken. I suspect it has something to do with a broken recline limit and being reclined against the bulkhead.

The car clunks hard in the rear under acc. or turning loads and hitting a reasonable bump. It has a bit of a dragging sound but mostly sounds like a hard suspension stop. Rear dampers were replace six months ago by the previous owner for just this complaint.

The front clicks when backing out of the garage and turning the wheels.

Does anyone have any ideas on the above? Again, all comments are appreciated.

Thanks!

Default Hard to say about the seat wit

Hard to say about the seat without lookung at it. But the clunk could be loose lug nuts if your car hasn;t had the Factory Wheel /Lug Nut Recall?

Default Some forward progress. The 2X

Some forward progress.
The 2X4 in the back was a broken recline portion of the seat adjuster. The black plastic part was pushed to one side locking the seat in max lumbar support - thus the 2X4 feeling.

The rear rub is the tires hitting the wheel wells. Camber is also 2.2 so the back was lowered.

I have not gone after the front click yet but have noticed it on both sides. I will check the clamping distance of the whell nuts and check for proper holding force.
Thanks

Default William, If my memory serve

William,

If my memory serve me correctly, I believe there was a sway bar/end link problem/recall on the 550's.

Regards,
David
