I bought the car last week. Light came on today. Checked the book, and I am still clueless. Read some of the posts...Can anyone give me the "Ferrari for Dummies" way to determine what this is and how to fix it, or should I take it into the shop?

Rob,

unfortunately there is no one or easy answer to a question like yours.

Generally an owner has some time with the car and can differentiate between running well and other. I suggest getting it looked at just to be on the safe side. Perharps go for a ride with your mechanic and listen to his feedback.

Sorry I can't be more confirming.

Regards, JRV

Rob, welcome.

As you may have read, the 348 does have a built in safety feature in that it can shut down the engine management on the bad bank of cylinders. that does nt answer your question though. you can find several threads on this board listing the procedure to read off fault codes and how to reset the ECUs. You may try to disconnect then reconnect the battery and then run the car at idle for the relearn. Then see if light returns.
Stay on this board for the best most informative answers.

Thanks everyone. I took it to a good Ferrari mechanic to fix the problem and shake down the car.
