Default Hi again JRV (et al)!

Hi again JRV (et al)! Seems I've gone a logn time without posting.

Do you know/reccomend anyone specifically to rebuild the original 328 "Aspera" (?) AC compressor? I have an old iron York from my Mustang lying about also. Not in Houston but can bring to my parents & have them drop off.

Best,

Carl

Best, JRV

Default You might consider an upgrade

You might consider an upgrade to the Sanden with a adapter plate, less hp and more efficient than the old piston type, I wouldn't think the York would be exclusive to zZFerrari and you probably could find a new or rebuilt unit somewhere and exchange the Ferrari pulley.

Hi Carl,

ok, finally getting back to you on this.

I couldn't find a 'rebuilder shop'.

I called my freon supplier and he has a Co. that does his rebuilding for him.

Call Steve Carr @ Carr Auto Parts - 713-690-1800 or 866-325-1800

Oh, and thanks Mr. Athey. I'm looking to properly rebuild the original 328 compressor (keeping it original), recognizing it won't function as well as Sanden.

Best,

Carl

Default They are a York, IIRC, 10 C.I.

They are a York, IIRC, 10 C.I. or something, same as Porsche used, per Steve Carr.

No new ones are left, but rebuilds are available.

DON"T LOSE THE CLUTCH!!! It IS a Ferrari only part and we had to do plenty of head scratching to match up a comparable one from the catalog....reuse if possible or Big BUCK$$$$$$ will be required!

Good Luck!

Sanden was actually OEM in Euro versions, and does draw less HP, I'm told......

Default Are these actually a York?

Are these actually a York? (not Aspera) Mine had metric threads in lower mountings (top studs metric on one side/standard on other as I recall)

Carl

PS: Did not break or drop clutch I understand it's quite pricey. Fortunately looked to have replaceable bearing.
