I had them on my injected car when I bought it and removed them immediately. They had warped such that they were allowing air past the filter and directly into the airbox. Besides that, I would have removed them anyway as I have read that they do not trap as many particulates as a regular filter. The added hp comes with a cost being extra abrasives in the combustion chamber. It makes sense to me, since their claim to fame is increased airflow, which can only mean less filtering.
I used one on my carb 308, but required a jetting change (richer main jets) as it was found to be rather lean. Stock 308's are lean to begin with, the extra air flow didn't help matters.
I use them on my '79 boxer and am happy with them. Having said that I don't live in an area that has very much dust. I think for dry dusty areas the paper filter might be a better choice.
