Default I have tried a new coil but ha

I have tried a new coil but have the same results. I have power at the coil on both sides with key-on-engine-off. The coil does not seem to be ossolating. On the side of the distributor is a magnectic pick-up with a green wire attached it. With the key on there is no power at this terminal. The ground for the distributor is fine, as well as the grounds of the upper fram rail. Is there supposed to be power at this green wire with the key on? Are there any checks I can do to this sensor to find out if it is bad or not? I have checked for continuity between the center post of the sensor and the terminal and I have nothing there. Is this an electro magent or is it a permenant magnet? This was an intermitant problem but now has become more frequent to the poiont now the car won't start at all. If anybody has an ingintion system wiring diagram that they could e-mail me it would be greatly appreciatied.
Thanks in advance for you help.

Default Thanks for the help JRV!! I w

Thanks for the help JRV!! I went back to the car and check for power supply at the digiplex. I have power at the yellow, red, wires and I also have good ground at the black wires. i have no power going out to the green wire, the goes to the distributor sensor.(wire is good not broken). I'm guessing this means that the digiplex is shot like you said. Please confirm if I'm testing this the propper way.

Default Tom, yes you are testing co

Tom,

yes you are testing correctly.

Sorry, but those Digiplexs pack up easy & often...last price I heard about was around $2.8K US...but haven't bothered with new ones in years...Marelli Electronic Ignition parts make Lucas Electrics look like a gift from heaven.

Lonnie at Perma-Tune can build you a perma-tune CDEI in the original box with original wiring...a simple plug & play.

Default Thanks again for all your help

Thanks again for all your help. I will be calling Perma-tune in the morning. I think I have used these guys before for a Porsche ignition box. I have located a used box just to try. It's out of a Countach but they are the same boxes.

Default Tom, I agree it's alway

Tom,

I agree it's always preferable to plug in a known good unit prior to jumping to conclusions. But failing Digiplexs is the rule, not the exception.

While you're waiting for parts it's a good idea to have a look at the Fuel Pump Fuses located between the standard fuse blocks in the glove box...failing FP fuse holders is second most common failure.

HTH's
