Russ,
in all honesty Ferraris have an decent AC system generally speaking. With a fully serviced and maintained system vent temps in the 45 degree range are normal. Several problems with the greenhouse and the size of the system itself make cooling the interior air large scale difficult & lenghty once heated however. |

Whilst you guys are on the subject - I've just had my AC compressor repaired. It came back with a label saying "check system - suspect blockage caused compressor to blow". Is it a simple job to check for a blockage or do I need an AC specialist to take a look. (Engine is out by the way).

Hi Jremy,
I'd replace the expansion valve as a matter of course and probably the Dryer also, unless it's fresh. With the Expansion Valve out you can blow compressed air thru the system to check for blockage. If you see debris in the EV intake, it means the Dryer has gone bad and allowed desecant to permeate the system. In that case a chemical flush would be in order, although at this stage a chemical flush is also a good idea.. Regards, JRV |
