After changing my plug leads I noticed that the pillars around two of the three screws that fix the distributor cap to the distributor body where showing fractures.
'They'll be OK' I thought but I went to the car tonight to have another look at how bad the cracks were and found that the pillars had disappeared!! We have had some very hot weather here - for London anyway - with temperatures around 33C and I guess this must have played some part. The cap is still in place but obviously needs changing. So I checked the price of a new cap from Ferrari UK and it is around $320, and new rotor arm is around $110. It would seem to make sense to change these two items at the same time. Can anyone suggest a cheaper supplier? Simon PS - I'll also ask on Frank Masiarz's Boxer list and report back if I get a positive response. |

Simon,
believe it or not those prices are dirt cheap. A cap used to sell for $800 and a rotor for $250...here in the US...so both items appear to be 50% off or more, simply by getting FNA out of the middle. We (here in the US) never knew how bad we were getting f**cked by FNA until Ferrari UK came along with the real prices and how availible the parts actually are. |
