Default I have a squeel on my brakes.

I have a squeel on my brakes. It is not very loud, but it only happens when I brake after going in reverse, or if I turn (no braking while turning). My rotors and pads look fine. Anyone know what this could be?

Ian,

it;s either glazing of the pads from long slow stops or rust from the rotors from washing or humidity between drives...

cure = 100mph to 40mph 3 times in succesion, letting pads/rotors cool for 1/4 mile in between stops, on a very open stretch of highway.

Lke JRV said: a regimine of multiple slowings from 100->40->100->40 as fast as you can accelerate and decelerate. This wears through the front few microns of the pads and rotors and changes the chemical composition of the top couple of microns on the rotors. More importantly, it performs the wear at accelerated temperatures where the pads should operate and where the chemistry of the rotors can be effected. My regimine uses 10 rather than JRVs 3.
