I have bought a nice new set of original spec, white covered plug leads for my 365 BB and I need to identify cylinder No 1. I can swop in the new leads but my new ones are numbered and I want lead #1 to be on cylinder #1.

As my car is right-hand drive and most of your are left-hand drive can we assume that I am stood behind the car looking forward. Which bank is #1 on and is it at the front or rear?

I have looked in the books and it is very unclear. All I can find is a firing order of 1-9-5-12-3-8-6-10-2-7-4-11 and a diagram that doesn't really make it clear which way it is drawn, hence the confusion.

Thanks very much. I have also noticed that the cylinders numbers are stamped on the block in the vee, along with the firing order. Should have looked at the engine and not the manuals.

How dumb do I feel?
