Default here we have another problem:

here we have another problem: condensate comes pouring out of the sides of the black enclosure above the console inside the car. I checked the drain tubes below the car and pushed air through them, as well as a pliable metal rod, and they are not obstructed. I can only surmise that the plastic tubes are not connected to the drain holes, or that the tray has a big crack in it.

Question: How do I remove the black cover over the console to see the fan, cooling core and the collecting tray below it? It took me 14 years to fix the air conditioning and now it works as well as any, but the condensation is all over the restored interior. Help.

Default Coach, Remove the seats, rear

Coach,
Remove the seats, rear & front console sections. Next find the two black phillips screws located on each side of the enclosure and remove them. There's not much wire going to the two rotary switches on the front, so use car when pulling the black cover rearward. If more travel is required, remove the two knobs using an allen wrench, then the nuts securing the switches to the cover.

Yes, the holes go through the floor pan. They don't connect to anything! The upper end terminates in the black plastic housing. Amazing that they don't leak onto the carpet.

Actually Bill, this is my problem... AC condensate is leaking on both sides of the plastic housing onto the carpet. I have double and triple checked to make sure the plastic drains are open and they are as I can blow through them and put a flexible rod through them and it goes right through.

Coach,

I had a similar issue in my '85 308QV. In our AC pan, there was a metal nipple that the drain hose attached to. It was badly rusted and split down the sides. You could stick a rod all the way through the hose. After scratching my head for a while I climbed under the dash and discovered the problem.

Default ok, I have taken the console o

ok, I have taken the console out, removed the cover, and found out why it is leaking. There is a small piece that attaches to the back of the bottom "pan" and it it was simply not sealed to the front piece. What a piece of junk!

In addition, I have blown my A/C switch, and need to replace it. Of course the Ferrari dealer does not have any such part. It is a simple rotary switch, with an off function and three speeds. I am sure a 308 or 512 BB switch would work. Anyone have any ideas where i can get a substitute?

Thanks for any help here.
