Default One of the fuel pumps on my Da

One of the fuel pumps on my Daytona is beginning to weep. These are the original Bendix units.

The manual states that the pumps are self regulating with a pressure of 4psi. I am looking at using "Silver Top" Facet fuel pumps as replacements as I am told they bolt right in to the existing clamps and have a rating of 4-5psi. They are shown here:

http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/Pro...s.asp?RecId=85

Number 1105.

Are these a good choice or can someone recommend a better pump?

Two are required in parallel operation.

Thank you,

Default Drew, It will work fine, bu

Drew,

It will work fine, but the price seems a little steep for a Silver Top. I personally prefer the Blue Tops, but that's just a matter of choice I suppose.

OK, great, thanks for the reply. I looked at the "blue top" but thought that a pressure output of 6.5-7.5psi might cause problems.

the pressure won't be to high because fuel inlet to the carb bowls is controlled by the Needles & Seats (which can withstand even higher pressures when closed) and additionally Daytonas have a return line that allows anything extra to simply return to the tank.

Default Knew about the needles and sea

Knew about the needles and seats but did not want to subject them to any higher pressure than what they were intended for. Good to know they can handle the higher pressure.

What I did not know is that there is a return line. I am still learning about this car.

Drives like a truck, but I love it.
