JRV...
I know you have a set! Take pity on a masochistic old Ferrari driver and give me a good deal! I wont feel complete as a human being until I find a set! Save me from a life of misery! Conversely..... anyone else out there have a set of DCN weber carb tops and velocity stacks taking up space in the basement? Terry |

Terry,
Hey I just saw a picture of a stack posted by Jeff of FUK..(hehe)...on Fchat in the tech section, a thread on Carb Parts. It was unplated for some reason (origs were Nickle Satin). Have you checked with him for a full set and tops? He just might have everything you need in stock? Did you find a Cold Air Box yet? BTW, I'm not saying no I won't part with my set...it's just I've had them so many years I think Iwould feel naked without them...{ } |

Ill holler at FUK and see what they have. No cold air box, but Bill Badurski has specs and plans. It really doesnt look like something that would be tough for my local machine shop to fabricate from sheet aluminum, then I paint it.
Naked is GOOOOOOOOOOOD! You dont need some old nasty carb tops hanging around! Think about price... I would also like to discuss a couple of things relative to Daytona maintenance with you.... can you PM me a number? |

JRV...
Would the carb tops and stacks from 275GBT/6C work. I spoke with a Gentleman who has a set he took off of his 275 some years back, I want to make sure they are the same. Im also assuming that in installing them I would need to swap the floats over and reset float levels. What else would be involved? Thanks! |

hi Terry, yes those tops & stacks will work.
Change the needles & seats & floats over and bolt them on. You will have to carefully remove the choke assemblies from your carbs. That's about all I remember besides the mandatory fiddling to get everything just so so. If you don't mind how much does this guy want for his parts? |

Terry,
After locating the carb tops and stacks the next obstacle is finding screens for the stacks. I'm working with a local resoration shop to have a few fabricated using mine as a model. Hope to have some soon, so if you get to that point let me know. Another option however is to use a filter in the cold air box. I was able to adapt a stock Daytona filter by adding about 2" of foam insulation strip to the filter in order to fill the distance inside the box. |

Bill, I should have my carb tops and stacks in a week or so, just waiting on shipping.
So... if you can come up with some good looking screens that would be fantastic. I could use them until I have time to make a cold air box. Do your screens allow for a small foam filter? I have seen pictures of screens on stacks that house a small foam type filter that would appear to work very well. |
