Early 308 WP belt replacement

What has been the frequency of change for the early 308 waterpump belt. Mine has been in for a few years and I have been wondering how many change this belt every year or 2 or 3 years. I carry the spare which is about 10 years old and I'm sure it will be OK in a pinch but the one on the car is the one I'm concerned about. Any feedback will be appreciated.

It should be changed every three to Five years when the major service is done. I wouldn't worry about the spare. You are not going to replace it on the side of the road.

Funny you say that because a friend of mine with a Mondi had to replace his along the side of the road last year. It was not a pleasant task. Oh and he did use his 4 year old spare and it worked out until he replaced it. Ha Ha .
