I was waiting for a table at a local Chinese restaurant and the lobby was filled with those "ricer" mags. Took a look and it seems there is a huge aftermarket for special ground wires to attach to various components in the engine compartment of otherwise stock, brand new Japanese import cars. The article showed dyno tests proving that anywhere from 2 to 5 hp can be found through this mod, on many cars. Apparently even the car manufacturers have not figured this out completely.

Default Dave, Compact tuners sp

Dave,
Compact tuners speed equipment is a multi billion dollar market and most of the new idea's and thinking is coming from that area. With the use of 2 and 4 wheel car dyno's, any change to the car can be tested in a matter of minutes. they have street legal Toyota Supra's with 900 + horsepower at the wheels, and Subaru WRX's with an easy 600hp. Better electronic black boxes than Ferrari F-1 cars had 5 years a go. 4 cylinder front wheel drive cars are breaking in to 8 second barrier in the Quarter mile drags. these guy's are not limited by a race sactioning body and their dumb rules, or a corparation counting the pennies. This is the future of performance,My 1300 cc Hayabusa (motorcycle engine)is making 226 horsepower from 80 cubic inches, and can be turbo'ed to over 450, and it weighs 195 pounds with a 10 plate clutch and a 6 speed sequencial transmission. Fast and furious, indeed! Bob
