Default The book originally stated 150

The book originally stated 150 grams, but 2 Service Bullitens have been released since then, the first one upping it to 180 grms, the second to 230 grms.

I open the Flywheel, inspect the springs and plastic retainers, replace the grease and the sealing O-Ring (not availible from Ferrari)and reasemble.

I'll try to post pics tommorow. If you're in a big hurry for the pics, do an archive search, as there is already a complete set of a 348 posted here in the tech section.

Regards, JRV

Default Since I already have the Flywh

Since I already have the Flywheel apart to clean out the old grease & inspect everything I wiegh the grease and pack everything smoothly and evenly.

However, you are correct, there are two Allen Head filler plugs on the back side of the flywheel used to originally fill the flywheel with the correct amount of grease. If you decide on the Syringe method you may be overlooking internal damage, bad existing grease and you will have no way to determine how full the Flywheel actually is.

Default Hi Bill, The Manuel states

Hi Bill,

The Manuel states thickness of plate new at 8.3mm (+ or - 0.3mm)with a wear limit of 1.5mm.

The wear limit number is probably a little conservative...and 2.0mm is likely acceptable.

Default Bill, McMaster is a good so

Bill,

McMaster is a good source. The trick is to buy a build it yourself Oring Kit that comes with a long lenght of Oring Material in the correct Diam. and then cut & splice together.

This trick was passed along to me by a Dealer friend.
