Default Bill, Honestly I'm not

Bill,

Honestly I'm not a big fan of the Splice to Fit Orings either...but in this case where there is no pressure and the oring is making a simple seal then I see nothing wrong with the application.

I certianly don't reccomend these kits for pressure applications.

Default Gents, I stumbled upon thes

Gents,

I stumbled upon these folks awhile ago...They seem to have a pretty wide range of metric o-rings and seals.

http://www.epm.com/

Also, for a generic source of metric o-rings, alu and copper sealing rings, Wurth has some great assortments, albeit not inexpensive.

Regards,
David

Bill,

Hmmmmmmm....yes they are a B888th to get on. I use Silcone Spray and slide/pop them on by hand and slide them into place. If yours are "deformed it's possible that a portion of the ring turned inside out or sideways???

Default Bill, I believe I have your

Bill,

I believe I have your answer & solution.

Ferrari makes a "Special Tool" to install the seals. It is a long thin cover that extends up the shaft allowing the seals to be slid onto the farthest groove and each proceeding groove in succesion without deforming the rings.

Go to the hardware/hobby store and get a piece of Stainless Shim Stock large enough to wrap around the shaft and create your own Slider Sleeve. Also, just before you slide the Seals onto the Fabricated Sleeve, heat them in VERY HOT water to provide a little extra elasticity to the seal to aid in sliding them to their respective groove.
