Henry, great write up, and I agree with you. When I did my major on my 348 I also found bolts that were messed up. Some idiot even put thread lock on the bolts for the cam caps. That stuff got hard like plastic. I spent alot of time making sure I cleaned all of that stuff off the bolts, out of the bolt holes, and out of the nuts. Plus I had to be very careful not to drop anything inside the heads. That is another reason why I agree with you, that if the engine service is done by an owner that is very careful, it will be better than the dealer.

Default The subframe bolts (12mm X

The subframe bolts (12mm X 1.25mm X 35mm and 40mm lenghts) where just under $1 each, not the $4 previously mentioned.
