Default Hi, I just bought some Slick

Hi,
I just bought some Slick 50 and Pennzoil fuel system cleaner. Is it OK to use on my 355? The instructions says to put in the fuel system cleaner in the gas tank when the gas tank is near empty, than fill up the gas tank full with new gas. But I only drive the car on the nicest sunny days on weekends, so I estmate that it will take me 1 month to use up 1 tank of gas. Will the fuel system cleaner do any damage to the fuel system or any seals, etc while the new tank of gas is sitting in the car for about 1 month?

Thanks for any advice.
Allen

RE: Slick 50; its is OK 'on' the car (a bit messy perhaps) but I wouldn't put any 'in' the engine/transmission. Google Slick 50 trouble.

RE: Fuel system cleaner: Use as directed. That is, wait for the tank to be low, run it through, and then fill with fresh gas.

Default If the snake oils were the mir

If the snake oils were the miracle cures, the manufacturers would be selling it as part of service. Drive the car, the harder the better, as it was intended. If you ever see one on the road in Italy, usually wrong side passing everything at a howl! Stick to quality gas and frequent fluid changes per this board. Enjoy.
