Default I have changed the oil hose fr

I have changed the oil hose from the oil cooler to the oil filter casing today and used a part I have ordered from Ferrari UK. The fittings at the ends of the new hose are fixed and do not turn while the fittings of the old one do. But my impression was that the old hose leaked exactly because the fittings were quite loose.

But when I installed the new hose I had to twist and bend it quite a bit. Is this normal? Can it break?

By the way, when I tried to bend the old hose, it broke right away. Maybe I should change the other 30 yr old oil hose as well.

Default Harry, I had the toughest

Harry,

I had the toughest time finding oil hoses for my C4. What I ended doing – a local shop makes industrial hydraulic hoses. I gave them the hoses from the C4 with instructions on orientations and had them adapt the Ferrari banjo & ball fittings to hydraulic hose crimp flanges and make up the hoses from 1000 psi 400 degree industrial stuff. All 4 hoses ran about $250, they do not leak and I don’t worry about them any more.

Default The ends on the old hoses turn

The ends on the old hoses turn because most come apart by unscrewing, so that new hose can be installed when neccesary as Aaron indicates.
