JRV,

A long time ago you posted on reversed polarity TDC senors on 348's specifically. So what was the final deal on them? Was there a fix Like cutting and reversing the wires on the bad sensors?

Hey BB,

Well there was no fix back then, although reversing the wires might work? But by now there should be corrected sensors in the pipeline as that was quite some time ago the bad sensors where found and reported.

I'll make a call tommorow and see what's up.

Regards, JRV

Default BB, I slept on the reverse

BB,

I slept on the reverse polarity/reverse wires question and I now believe the answer to be no, it would not work to switch the wires.

The polarity is of the magnetic field internal of the sensor. When a steel pin is run close to the tip, the magnetic field collapses/is interupted, sending a specific type of sine wave to the computer. The computer is actually looking for this specific sine wave rather than a voltage spike, so even though it may trigger a result, it would not trigger the exact correct result from the computer. What you would end up with is sporadic/erradic computer signals to the down stream recipients or a complete misinterpetation of the signal by the computer which is the cause of the running condition/driveability problems.

HTH's
