A picture just for giggles before I put the airbox back on.

40 DCNF-12 Webers, chrome air horns with wire mesh, single distributor, MSD, stock FI cams, Dynomax/Ansa muffler:

Max power = 241.6 rwhp @ 6,700 ( ~ 294.6 flywheel) [stock 260 flywheel]
Max torque = 201.9 rwft-lbs@ 5,300 ( 246 flywheel) [stock 213 flywheel]

Default I had a car around 35 years ag

I had a car around 35 years ago with DCNF 36s and wire screens. Good power, short life due to ingestion of dirt wearing out the valve guides. I, personally, don't recommend non-filtered operation.

Default Agree - like I said, thought I

Agree - like I said, thought I'd take a fun picture before I go back to the daily airbox and filter. Will save the meshed trumpets for special occaisions.

Default How about the air horns withou

How about the air horns without the screen under the filter inside the air box. They do help the air flow. also the length of the intake changes where the power is made to a small degree.
