Need help with TR clutch pedal assembly

I have a 1987 US TR and am trying to remove the clutch master cylinder. I need to know how to remove the black horizontal expansion spring for the clutch pedal relay lever. I am trying to push out the clutch master cylinder retaining pin and be able to put it back in. I believe I have to losen the large bolt retaining the relay lever assembly to get enough play to get access to the pin. But to get access to the bolt, I have to remove the spring. I tried a coventional T-handle and hook tool, but there is not enough room to get the leverage I need.

I would imagine there may be another type of spring expander I could use, but haven't found one.

I am trying to get the car together for a meet this Sunday and am running out of time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
