Hello,
I just installed my new Tubi with test pipes on my 88 TR, is sounds great, and seems to have great power, but with the new set-up it seems the chug at low rpm's, under 3k, over 3k it is fine! And it does not run quite as smooth as it did with the old system..does it need to be dialed in with the new set-up??
Thanks..Robert

Default Robert, Considering that you&

Robert,
Considering that you've reduced the back pressure than the engine "sees", it would be beneficial to have the mixture level reset. As the cats are now gone, I would strive for the lowest possible HC readings...which should result the the CO level being in the .9-1.2% range.

Regards,
David

Default Robert: I had Tubis and test

Robert: I had Tubis and test pipes on my 88TR....it ran fine......even had the pre-cats gutted. Did you have bungs put into the test pipes, so that you could re-install the O2 sensors?....I did on mine. If so, then I would agree with David.

Default Yes Henry I did put back the 0

Yes Henry I did put back the 02 sensors, I have a friend said try and unhook the sensors and see if that helps?? But I think David has a good point, it should not chug under 3k rpm's, it sure never did before!! Sounds like it's running too lean..

Default I would not remove the O2 sens

I would not remove the O2 sensors! Your mixture was probably running on the edge before, just that you didn't realize it........now, with the Tubis and test pipes, it is showing itself?

It is my understanding that the computer(ECU) can correct for some fluctuations; like test pipes, Tubi, etc.........since these shouldn't really throw if off by that much........still should be within the range of the ECU.

I do agree.........adjust the vacuum balance between banks, and check the COs.
