While on the lift today, we noticed that I have an oil leak which appears to be coming from the oil dipstick guide. Where the dipstick mounts to the engine (right about the engine mount) is where the leak is. How do I go about fixing the leak? Do I need an o-ring or any gaskets? Thanks.

Ken,
welcome there is a sealing washer on the dip stick lower nut. Most of the time they are just loose from some type recent servicing and simply need to be retightened. Requires a 27mm wrench. I use a thin shortened 27 open end. First loosen the upper nut of the dip stick tube itself, once a litte loose, tighten the lower nut threaded into the case, then retighten the upper nut. If they are both tight to begin with it will likely require a new sealing washer. It's real tight to get to both nuts with a big wrench but with patience it's not to hard. HTH's |
