Any OBD2 generic code reader will work. There are some bulletins about a ground wire that wasn't installed at the factory that will cause communication issues, I've also had some unusual interactions with the immobilizer that requires a "trick" to pass through and get communication. I prefer to use the Launch generic tool, it has a Fiat code database which crosses over somewhat for the manufacturer specific codes.
