Default First off I must apologize to

First off I must apologize to all who read this thread. I've worked like a dog around the house today and now am too lazy to diagnose my car...hence my posting this problem. When cruising in the TR I get a slight chirp - chirp - chirp coming from the right front wheel. I apply the brakes and it stops. If I turn slightly left or right it gets a bit louder. It seems to chirp at each wheel rotation and changes frequency with speed. My pads looked good a couple of weeks ago with plenty of meat, and I don't remember seeing any wear indicators. The car stops nice and smooth, no pulsing or anything. Could the caliper be hanging up? Or would the rotor need turning, and if so can any ol'e auto parts store do the job?

It sounds like a loose wheel, or bearing. Hold the tire (off the ground)in the 3 and 9 o'clock position, and check for play........do this also in the 12 and 6 positions. This will tell you if either the wheel is loose, or a bearing going.

Repeating this, with the tire off (holding on to the calipers), will confirm a bad wheel bearing.....or loose rear axle nut.
