I have a 400i and am having problems getting it to start. I have checked the timing, new distributer cap, new leads, new plugs, had the injectors checked. It doesn't seem to be injecting, it does it once and then stops, I don't know why the petrol stops coming through.
So, it wouldn't be the starter motor because it actually starts, right? But, then after starting, it conks out because fuel doesn't seem to pass through, right?
...just trying to get more clarification
Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, it isn't the starter because it turns over, it injects once and then doesn't inject anymore. I can't work out why the fuel isn't going through.
Regards
Steve
Crankshaft position sensor. first shot from injectors is for startup fuel.( I believe it allows injection for 2 revolutions) ECM then looks for the crankshaft to be turning, to continue to allow the injectors to add fuel. CPS signal to ECM might not be showing up at the ECM.
possible defective Crank shaft sensor / wire harness and plugs to ECM
