Default Hi Folks got a problem and am

Hi Folks got a problem and am in need of some desperate help. I own a 308 gtsi and hadn't driven it for almost 6 weeks. I went to take it for a drive yesterday and surprise, it had a flat battery. I jump started it but now the car hesitates quit badly at low idle but is fine up high. I thought it might have been the battery so I charged it, but still no good. I fear that I may have damaged something. Help! Any advice or thoughts on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

What year car? Charging the battery shouldn't affect anything unless you put a heavy duty on with the ignition on maybe. I would suspect a fouled plug, if the car cranked slowly initially, the plugs could have failed. That's best place to start, check the plug wire extenders whie you're in there.

regards, Brian

Default I would also have the battery

I would also have the battery tested. A bad battery (with bad cell) can cause poor running as well.

Thanks for the info. It's an 82 model and have checked out the battery, found it was good. Found something previously about the digiplex units. Ignition computers. Apparently you shouldn't jump-start the car cause the computers can't handle any large voltage. Is there anyway of checking these digiplex units. Thanks for you help folks very much appreciated, will inspect the plugs and wires tonight.

Regards
Steve

it all comes down to spark, fuel and air.

I agree with Brian. It's not the Digiplex.
