Hi,

Until I upgrade to 16" wheels, I would like to replace the stock tires on my '76 GTB. The only tire available in the same size (205/70/14) is the Sumitomo HTR 200 (other than Michelin XWX repros at almost $250 each!)

Does anyone have experience with these tires?
Is the sidewall any stiffer (well, as stiff as a 70 series could be) than the Michelin XWX?

Any input would be appreciated,

Anthony

As far as I'm aware the Sumitomo's are fine for an early 308. You could go with 215's or even 225's on the stock rims if you wanted to, might give you more choices.

Default Thanks, Yes I would like to

Thanks,

Yes I would like to go wider, but it is hard to keep the same diameter - I heard of some owners complaining of too much space in the wheel well with 225/60 or rubbing when turning.
