Default We replaced the front brakes w

We replaced the front brakes with a Brembo kit which included rotors, pads , and calipers. The front brakes squeak like crazy. We called Brembo and they set us up with another set of pads, which did the samething Squeak. Brembo said at that point that we have to change out the rotors to different rotors and that would take care of the problem, well they aren't willing to give us credit for the rotors we already bought. My experience with ceramic brake pads has been great with other makes of cars, but they aren't available for this TR, unless someone else out there knows where I can get some ceramic pads

Default Wade, You have probably alread

Wade, You have probably already done this...
But I would first try pulling the pads from the calipers.
Upon inspection check for angle wear, to make sure the new calipers are inline with the rotors, and check for glazing.
If any glazing is found, knock it down with a corse sanding.
If the pads have angular wear, then shim the caliper.
Before re-installing pads apply a coat of Permatex 127MA Disc Brake Quiet, Item #80077 to the back of the pads only.
The other place I would check, would be where the rotor mounts to the hat to make sure it is in true.

Good Luck!

agree with David...he's obviously BTDT...

break in/bedding in is critical also to degas the pads and seat pads to the rotors

squeak is a phenomenon of vibration....eliminate the vibration = eliminate the squeak

Default Try all the usual tricks, cham

Try all the usual tricks, chamfer the edges of the pads, deglaze the pad faces and rotor surfaces. Check for runout, caliper square. Then use either a sticky backing shim or other proprietary anti-squeal treatment. Then reseat/burnish the pads during a prolonged roadtest. Careful slow cooling before allowing to sit. Works 99% of the time. I have never resorted to ceramic pads as a cure, if the "green" pads are available, they have NEVER given any noise problems on Euro cars for me.

Regards, Brian
