Default I want to get at the throttle

I want to get at the throttle cable, at the gas pedal area. According to the parts manual, it seems to lay in the forward center console area.

Can I remove this area, without removing the whole center console? Or, do I have to remove both seats, the console, and then, the forward console area?

After my major, the throttle cable comes up short. So, I figure, the problem must be in the pedal area.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Default It seems I figured it out. I

It seems I figured it out. I removed the driver's seat.....not necessary if you are a very "small" Italian, which I am not.

Following this, was removal of the front carpets and side, plastic, "kick" panel, which is attached to the side of the console, next to the accel. pedal.

Next came the rear portion of the vinyl side console panel.......removed 3 screws, and lifted the "clip-on" bracket.......this was so that it freed the carpet segment below. It is not necessary to remove this whole panel.

Finally, I removed 2 screws that hold the rear edge of the forward-most carpet section, and pulled it back. This exposed the throttle cable, and it's attachment.

The throttle cable was looped. I corrected this, and got the extra inches I needed.

Default What do you mean looped? Is it

What do you mean looped? Is it looped from the factory? Seems this would create drag n the cable.

Default John, When I pulled back th

John,

When I pulled back the carpet, I saw the cable sheathing moved back from where it should be, and the cable had a small loop in it. It appears that I, during the course of the major, have pulled on the sheathing, thus sliding it over the cable, a few inches. Then I must have pushed back the sheathing, and the excess cable looped over.

I didn't pull hard on the cable.........I may have taken up the slack, if I did, but I didn't want to damage anything.
