Default I want to replace the TO beari

I want to replace the TO bearing.......it is frozen. I have a new one, but I can't seem to get the old one off the "thrust bearing supporting bush".......frozen there too.

I used a 5-ton press, and no luck. I am considering heating the bearing, however, I am afraid of distorting the supporting bush. this bush has the seals, so any distortion would ruin it......and I wouldn't know that until everything is back together again, down the road somewhere.

Should I just get a new bush?

Default Got it out!!!!!!! I sprayed

Got it out!!!!!!!

I sprayed some Pb Blaster, and let it sit. While supporting the edges of the bearing in a vise, I gently hit the center, using a large socket........came out easy.

It would seem that hitting is better than a press, for removal.......sort of like using an impact wrench, vs a hand wrench, to remove a stuck bolt. However, I will use a press to install the new bearing.
